Meet the Candidates for Student Council Offices!

Student Council Elections will be held on Wednesday morning. 

The candidates will give their speeches in front of the student body at 8:00 am and then the students will return to homeroom to cast their votes.

Take a moment and become acquainted with your student council candidates.

Running for the office of President:  Allison Sortino

Allison is in the 8th grade and she has been in student council all the years she has attended Maddox.  Her favorite subject is science and she loves the music of Taylor Swift.

Alison says, “If elected, I will listen to what the student body wants.  I will treat everyone equally and I promise to always do my best.”

Allison describes herself as smart and kind and her campaign slogan is “Attitude + Action = Achievement!”

Allison has two pets, Spitfire and Copper and they agree that Allison will make a great president.

 

Running for the office of Vice President:  Jaiquavious Caldwell and Ben Waid

Jaiquavious is in 8th grade and this is his first year to be involved in student council.  His campaign slogan is “Just Do It, Vote for Quay!”

He loves to play sports and his favorite tv show is Sportscenter.  He describes himself as smart, funny and athletic.

He says, “If elected, I will do my best to help our school.”

Quay loves the subject of history and his favorite music artists are LeCrae and Toby Mac.

 

Ben Waid is in 7th grade and this is his first year to be in student council.

His campaign slogans are “Don’t Wait – Vote Waid” and “Win with Ben”.

Ben is also involved in Builder’s Club and Band at our school.  He loved to play trumpet and eat!  Ben describes himself as friendly, funny, and smart.

Ben says,  “You should vote for me because I am a good leader.  I like to do stuff for people and I am a good person.”

 

Running for the office of Secretary:  Austin Hood, Olivia Schirle, and Zoe Scott

Austin is in 8th grade and this is his first year to be in the student council.

He is also involved in AMICI Jr, Builders Club and Technology Club.  He loves to be outside playing sports or riding 4 wheelers.

Austin’s favorite subject is science, and he likes the music of Lil Wayne, Drake, ACDC and Chris Brown.

Austin describes himself as happy, fun and considerate and he says, “I want your vote because I know what I am doing and I am reliable and hard working.”

 

Olivia Schirle is in the 6th grade and she is also in the math club.

She says that math is her favorite subject and she loves to read and spend time with her family.

Olivia loves the music of Justin Bieber and  she describes herself as athletic, friendly and funny.

Olivia says, “Vote for me because I will help to make our school a better place.”

 

Zoe Scott is in 6th grade and she also loves the subject of math.  In her spare time she likes to listen to music and get on the computer.

Her favorite music artists are Cody Simpson and Cher Lloyd.  Zoe describes herself as a funny, smart, and a leader.

Her campaign slogans are “I can keep the notes, if you give me your vote” and “Scott will give it all she’s got!”

Zoe says, “I think people should vote for me because I have always been a leader and this would be a good way to keep being one.”

 

Running for the office of Treasurer:  Molly Kate Atkins and Brylee Smith

Molly Kate is in 6th grade and she was involved in student council at Townley Jr. High.

Her campaign slogan is “Molly Kate is Great!” and she describes herself as athletic, artistic and helpful.

Her favorite subject is math and she loves the music of Eric Church and Luke Bryan.

Molly Kate says, “People should vote for me because I am very trustworthy, fair and helpful.  If any student needs help, they can count on me.”

 

Brylee is also in 6th grade and her favorite subject is also math.

Her campaign slogan is “Vote Brylee Smith, It just adds up!”

She loves to read and draw and she describes herself as awesome, funny and nice.  Brylee loves the music of Bruno Mars and Nicki Minaj.

Brylee says, “Vote for me because I am good at math and I love Maddox.  I am great at fundraising and I want to make Maddox more fun!”
